This is to inform that beginning from the January 1, 2009, the Research Institute of Medicinal Plants (IMP), following the decision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of December 19, 2008, has merged with the Institute of Natural Fibres (INF) and has formed a new institute named the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants (INF&MP).
Prof. Dr. Grzegorz Spychalski and Dr Maria Wladyka-Przybylak have been appointed for the position of the General Management of the new institute. Dr. Waldemar Buchwald has been appointed for the position of the Head of the Branch of Medicinal Plants of the
A research and development unit estabilished in 1947.
The Research Institute of Medicinal Plants is a unique institution of a inter- and multidisciplinary character of activity. A long term tradition, experience and professional equipment and a well qualified scientific personnel let the Institute carry out complex research on herbal raw materials and herbal medicinal products, especially in context of its medical use.
The quality of service and analyses is guaranteed by integrated quality management system implemented in the Institute. The system includes ISO 9001:2001, Good Experimental Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice when analytical and control final products are concerned.
The Research Institute of Medicinal Plants is a research and development unit with a licence to assess new food.
It cooperates with the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate and a working group of the European Commission on New Food.
